The 4th of July Weekend
Karaoke is the best way to celebrate independence by singing front and center at Sanibel Harbour Marriott where the first prize walks away with a valuable resort credit. For those who would prefer to celebrate off stage, a plethora of activities are available throughout the weekend including volleyball tournaments, dive-in movies, waterslides and bean bag toss contests while listening to the tunes of great live bands. Take a break from the action on the 3rd of July and enjoy classic American favorites on the pool deck buffet. $20 per adult and $10 per child (ages six-12) buys all the hamburgers, chicken quarters and old-fashioned macaroni salad any American could want.
Following an action-packed day, guests set sail on a fireworks dinner cruise aboard the Sanibel Princess, the resort’s 100-foot private yacht. The cruises depart daily at 7:00 p.m. on July 3rd and 4th, offering everything from Jumbo Gulf Water Shrimp and Snow Crab Claw Clusters to Petite Filet and Maine Lobster Ravioli. The cruise is $90 per person inclusive of tax, service and port charges.
Guests who would prefer to dine on land, the resort’s Tarpon House Restaurant offers a land and sea assortment all weekend long. A delectable poolside buffet themed after the original 13 colonies offers samplings of everything from Lobster Rolls from Mass., Italian Bread and Chicken Sandwiches from N.Y., Corn Dogs and Coney Dogs from N.J. and Crab Cakes and Crab Chowder from Md. to Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches from Pa., Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Baby Back Ribs from N.C. and Peach Cobbler and Pecan Pie from Ga. The July 4th sideboard is $35 per adult and $20 per child, age’s six-12 years old, while children under five eat free.
Fireworks-cruises are also available each night at 8:00 p.m., where guests enjoy the colorful evening sky cruising on a Captiva Cruises’ catamaran. Cruise-goers complete the evening with red, white and blue sundaes at Palm Court Bakery while Uncle Sam roams the resort sharing U.S. flags with guests.
And best of all, the fun continues through the summer as July 4th guests will receive a special invitation to return for the Labor Day weekend. This exclusive “bounce back” package starts at $129, representing 20 percent off prevailing rates and including a $50 resort credit. The secret booking code will be given to guests at the resort during the July 4th weekend. With this enticing offer, vacationers cannot find a better reason to start and end the summer at Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa.
