BBQ Recipe Contest kicked off last weekend and now is the time for you to get involved! Join us this Sunday poolside at 2 pm. Chef Criss will be out there teaching you how to become a certified grill master.

While your at it, enter to win your FREE weekend at Sanibel Harbour. Submit your best BBQ recipe, and you will have a chance to spend a weekend with us including water front accommodations, dinner for two at Courtside Steakhouse, and access to BBQ University. Four winners will be chosen throughout the summer. Each winner will receive this great giveaway along with having their recipe displayed on the Tarpon House menu, ALL summer long. General Manager Cory Clark to throw out first pitch…

The MILB Fort Myers Miracles are taking on the Tampa Yankees tonight at Hammond Stadium, starting at 7:05pm. Our very own General Manager Cory Clark will be throwing out the first pitch. Make sure to go out to the ball game to support our home team, and Mr. Clark.

Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa Fitness Supervisor Jack Barone will be leading an island bike tour this Tuesday, June 2. Riders will meet at 8:45 am in the hotel vallet area. The trolley will be leaving at 9am sharp, taking riders over to Sanibel Island, and then leaving the island to head back to the hotel at 11:30am.

This two hour bike tour will take riders through the designated bike trails on Sanibel Island, stopping at all the must see spots. Experience the beautiful nature and scenery of the Tarpon Bay Recreation area, Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Shelling beaches, and Periwinkle Park Bird Zoo.

Bike tour is open to adults and children. Package includes bike rental, water, shuttle transportation to and from Sanibel Island, and a service charge. For more details on pricing, please call 239-466-2159. Reservations are required.

BBQ Recipe Contest is kicking off this weekend! Starting Sunday, and continuing every Sunday until Labor Day, Chef Criss Menassa will be poolside teaching YOU how to become a certified grill master. You will learn how to grill everything from meats to veggies, desserts and so much more. Already a self proclaimed grill master? Come on over and brush up on your BBQ skills, and learn from the best. Memorial Day is right around the corner.

Sangria Berries

Sangria Berries sure brings Chef Felix back to his roots. This summertime recipe was inspired by his mother, who would spend hours on their veranda in Spain, sipping on this refreshing Sangria during the sweltering summer months. Chef Felix put his own personal spin to his Mother’s favorite cocktail, and now you can too.

Here’s how to do it:

Sangria Berries Ingredients:

1 pint Strawberry
1 pint Raspberry
1 Pint Blueberry
1 Pint Blackberry
14 oz Merlot Wine
3 oz Raspberry Sauce
2 oz Orange Juice
1 pint Raspberry or strawberry sorbet

1. Mix all ingredients on a mixing bowl

2. On a wine glass Ladle 5 oz berries with some red wine to your liking.

3. Top with scoop of raspberry sorbet.

This recipe serves 6.

Now, put the kids to bed, relax, and enjoy!

Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa is proud to welcome Chef Felix Nunez to our family. Nunez touts more than 25 years of experience at famed properties such as the Willard Intercontinental in Washington D.C. and Intercontinental The Barclay New York. Nunez most recently held the position of Executive Chef at The Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel and previous to that was the Executive Chef at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel. Nunez has developed dining experiences in Florida at both The Tides South Beach and Intercontinental Miami. Nunez’s style features American fare with European, Latin and Asian fusion.

Chef Felix is responsible for cooking and creating all the delicious options we have at each of the six restaurants on property, while keeping our banquet and group guests happy and satisfied too.
